SD Ponraj and wife Sheila:Ponraj heads up the Bihar Outreach Network (BORN) a cooperative partnership of many native missionary organizations working in Northern India. He is a widely known Christian author in India. Sheila heads up a church planting effort among tribal peoples of Bihar. During the past three years BORN, in partnership with Scriptures in Use, has trained 1000 grass roots church planters and has established a pool of 14 experienced trainers. BORN has regular scheduled training events held in several locations in Northern India. At each event, about 30 to 50 grass roots church planters are trained.
RY and wife:RY a missions leader in Nepal. His vision and primary responsibility is church planting among several unreached groups of Nepal. In October 1999, SIU trained 20 grass roots church planters, and, to date, several hundred more have trained. Our partnership with RY has grown stronger and we have jointly set a new goal to hold native missionary training events two to three times a year for the next three years. For security reasons, we cannot reveal RY's identity.
Senyo Cudjoe and wife Augustine: Senyo is the director of Eweland Rescue Mission Fellowship, a native missionary organization working in Ghana, Togo and Benin, West Africa. Senyo's vision is to reach 14,000 unreached villages of the Volta Region of West Africa. Scriptures in Use has been working in close partnership with Senyo since May of '98. Senyo and his team have trained about 500 grass roots church planters. They have planted many churches and have seen thousands of new believers surrender to Christ. Currently, Senyo has ten (10) Field Leaders who supervise about 100 church planters working in about 120 villages.
Rene Mbongo and wife Faustine: Rene is the director of the International Bible Society of Senegal and co-director of the Senegal Interior Mission in Dakar, Senegal. Rene is a nationally recognized leader and has a deep commitment to reach the unreached majority of Muslims in French speaking, Sub-Saharan Africa. The emphasis has been in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. Rene has coordinated SIU's training efforts in the region. To date, Rene and the Senegal team have trained several hundred grass roots church planters. Rene is coordinating SIU's on-going training in the region and is targeting 3 new regions in West Africa.
SIU has many partners working in areas of the world where persecution of Christians prevents posting their photos and stories on this website. Evening mentioning the countries they are working in would increase the risk to their safety as they move among oral cultures. Please pray for the Persecuted Church!
